The Michigan Horror Writers is proud to announce its first writing workshop, entitled "Revealing Character or What's in Your (Hero's) Wallet?" Author Diane Burton will be giving the workshop. Diane populates her futuristic novel, Switched, with a cast of impetuous, austere, despicable humans and quirky, nefarious aliens. In her workshop, "Revealing Character or What's in Your (Hero's) Wallet?", she will offer tips for developing memorable characters which the reader will either root for or hiss at. Diane grew up in Westland, and now resides in the Lansing-area.
The workshop will also feature Bram Stoker nominee for editor, William Jones. William is the editor at Elder Signs Press and will be on hand to comment and critique on workshop attendees submissions.
All attendees should submit a maximum one page of dialogue and/or description that best shows your character.
The workshop will be held on June 24, 2006, from 3:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., at the Madison Heights Fire Department community room, 31313 Brush, Madison Heights.
