In the beautiful and satisfying story Every Angel is Terrifying, now up at Strange Horizons, Nia Stephens' narrator recites a litany of angels, the Angel of Lamentation, the Angel of Yesterdays, the Angel of Kinship, the Angel of Centuries, the Angel of Categories against the background of a friend (Reece) and artist's life and death. Heartbreaking and evocative prose that takes on Kabbalistic nuances.
