» LadyAmeasha - "Fantasy in an unusual setting..."
MC's dreams invade waking hours to the point of frightening MC, but MC can't stop it. MC must gather recruits from all four regions and prepare for war on land and water. Whoever survives, will make their way to an island called The Island of Battle where the last battle scene is fought.
MC falls in love twice with shapeshifter that plays a part in MC's waking hours as well as dream state, but doesn't know it.
At the end, MC finds out that MC is an elf and not a human and that MC's adoptive mother was really an elf that fell in love with a human and lost all her elven abilities. All infants born with special abilities where placed in MC's realm for safety.
MC also finds out who the shapeshifter really is and why the shapeshifter is of great importance to the outcome of this quest and how it involves the MC. MC has a calling, hence the title for my novel The Calling.
MC then finds out there is a decision to be made. The MC has to decide whether to stay as an elf or return to human form forever and the decision has to be made before MC's 21st birthday which is in the last hour of the MC 20th birthday
There will be over 35 chapters and I have edited the first 10 chapters for final draft. The first 10 chapters works out to 18,875 words.
So as far as time periods go such as Medieval, Celtic, Victorian, or Barbarian ect., my novel has none. This is my first novel and I tried to keep it away from time periods.
From what I have described above, I wondered if I could get opinions and thoughts from others about my novel plot. There is so much more that goes on, but I only scratched the surface.
What do others think about unusal settings?
