It sounds like you've got some clear ideas on how your plot should progress, which is great.

You've asked about unusual settings - can you tell us a little more about what makes yours unusual? Some of this sounds like standard fantasy, which is fine, but it would be cool to see elves, for example, who move away from the D&D type notion of them. -Cat
